Whole30 is a more restrictive nutrition plan than paleo, but is a great way to kickstart a new commitment to eating healthy. The first time I did Whole30, I lost 6 pounds in the first month and felt great. Whole30 includes all fruits, vegetables, proteins and some healthy fats. The big items you are not allowed to have include dairy, sugar, grains, gluten and alcohol.

When starting Whole30 or paleo, it's best to focus on delicious ingredients you can have rather than ingredients you can't have. A diet where you can have steak, pumpkin, and shepherd's pie sounds much better than a diet where you can't have cheese or chips and salsa.
